I think that she is showing what religion is really like, and what our Friend in The Sky we call God really wants his followers to be like, which is scary. But, by showing the dark side of religion...it could knock some sense into people. It just makes me really angry, however.

The Church says that they try to give respect to people who feel differently on this issue. But, I'm pretty sure gays feel differently on Prop 8 than members of the LDS Church, and by taking away their rights of marriage isn't very respectful.

And by watching Bill O'Reilly [>:( , btw], I found out that AT&T supported NO on Prop 8 by donating TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS to the anti-bigotry (in my opinion) campaign. I know I'm with the right cell phone company :)

No, divorce isn't great or anything...but it sure shouldn't be illegal! If your wife/husband is abusing you and molesting your kids...well...that really speaks for itself.

But I do like the end part when they say that the people who approve Prop. 8 just classified a group of Americans 2nd class citizens...because...well it's true.

My school is officially KJASHGKABGKLHFAA. This stupid girl in my math class said that she liked Prop. 8 because she hated gay people and called them some downright filthy names that I don't even want to THINK. -this is the same girl who didn't like Obama because 'he is against abortion'...hmm.

SO ANYWAY.

How can someone support this proposition?! Just because your religion doesn't support same-sex marriages doesn't mean that EVERYONE believes the same thing, nor does it mean your religion is 'right'. And if they're not of your religion, then it doesn't really affect them, does it?

Redefining marriage to allow gay people to wed is not going to destroy the earth or bring an end to anyones' religion. Forcing your beliefs onto others and onto the government will, however.

If we had never redefined marriage, black people couldn't marry white people. Barack Obama, our President Elect's parents could not have married in a like a third of the country that he would be president of.

Also, if we hadn't changed the marriage 'requirements' , black people couldn't marry black people. Marriage was not legally recognized if any part of the couple were slaves.

Article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says that "Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution. Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses."

(yes...I read these things.) Nowhere in that paragraph does it say that same-sex couples cannot marry, though same-sex union is not applied to the limitations. I guess, you sort of have to read into it, and if someone was raised thinking that God hates homosexuals, well they'll read into it differently than I do.

But the way I read into it, California is denying a human right. Not just an amendment or a right from the Bill of Rights for solely The United States of America. Universal.

SECONDLY, she said that she didn't like him because he was against abortions....last time I checked he was pro-choice... And, she also decided to yell that he is probably going to be assassinated if he is elected because he's black 'and nobody likes black people'.

How can someone be so single minded and ignorant when not living in a cave in the middle of nowhere, a stick as your only companion?

And today I actually heard someone say that Bush was smart. Give me some sources, people. Show me some facts.

AND this person who refuses to leave me alone (megan) is a freaking idiot, I've decided. She knows absolutely nothing about politics. Nothing. Nada. So at lunch we were talking about how stupid things are and about McCain and Palin and Bush and Obama etc etc, right? Well the only arguing point she could come up with was 'McCain is old'. Sure...that's true. He's not like...103 years old...if he has a hamburger I'm sure he'd come out of the ordeal just fine...so...that's not particularly relevant. THEN to everything about anything she'd say "I know! Right? And..." and then thats it. Eventually, we just rolled right over her because she was just an annoying hum in the background.

I like that people are for Obama and Biden. I don't like that people will say they are without learning about who they support. If it's just blind loyalty, you'll follow nearly anyone that someone else wants you to.

Oh yes, about the person who said Bush was smart. Nuh uh. Who declared war on a country after 9/11 who had nothing to do with the attack? Who's oil crazy? Who has a calender series based off of his calamitous speeches that never quite make much sense?

And one thing I can't get out of my head about McCain...the whole 'bomb Iran' jingle...do we really want someone like that leading and representing The United States????
